luxury master bath remodel
dane and i had big plans for our luxury master bath remodel. we knew we wanted a walk-thru shower and a stand alone tub.. two sinks (clean up your own beard trimmings, amirite?) we wanted the closet to be close, a toilet closet… the works.
we worked with Josh on the renderings – luckily he had as much patience as he does talent… because we made a *couple* changes. then dane worked with O’Shor for the build. it turned out literally so perfect. i wouldn’t change a thing.
ahhh.. isn’t it gorgeous? i feel so happy and giddy knowing it’s ours – that we designed and created it. man oh man did hours of hard work and sweat… an eye full of grout and some swear words go into this beauty of a bathroom.
our bathroom has plain white walls, ceramica carrara select 8 x 48 planks on the floor and up the shower walls (beautiful planks i might add). our vanity is black with a black antique granite top from Universal Marble and Granite out of Perrysburg, Ohio.
our shiplap wall
i (struggled but succeeded) to have dane agree to shiplap… and not just shiplap, black painted shiplap. it is a subtle but bold statement wall i think it perfectly balances the whole feel of the space. to make the wall we bought shiplap from menards -primed it and then painted it with black tricorn from sherwin williams and slapped it up there.
*drumroll please* yes, yes i did paint these bad boys in what i thought was perfect condition. (cut the drums) then i came home and dane was repainting them… i’m just not good at painting – yet dane continues to have me paint…. hmm. anyway they turned out great! dane was putting them up i went in to cheer him on aka check on the progress.. and he had just finished the wall and had a couple spots he had just touched up. guess what, yep i touched that exact spot- unknowingly – and now we have 4 of my unique fingerprints dried right onto that otherwise seemingly perfect paint job. #givesitcharacter
master bath boujee toilet
i cant make a proper master bathroom post without mentioning the “space toilet” or as angela lanter describes it “boujee toilet.” (for real) this bad boy plugs in and comes with a remote for heaven sakes. it lifts its own lid, and closes and flushes automatically… it sprays pre-clean solution before you go. boujee, for sure. it also has a heated seat – hold on, i know, gross. i thought it would be like sitting in someone’s warmed up seat at a bar (- barf). its not .. its great, its good.. anyway it has so many more features i’m not gonna mention – just use your imagination. 🙂 it is a toto toilet – look it up (links at the bottom)
make-up ready
the last touch to the bathroom was actually danes idea. he picked out and created the sassiest little makeup / hair station which i adore. the desk, chair and mirror were all danes picks. i dig it.. and so does bay. she is constantly in here putting on makeup – girl needs to lay off the navy eyeshadow.
all in all this master bath is a step up from our little “trailerhood” bathroom. where we started back in 2010..life in the hood was simple living! you could plug the vacuum into one outlet and sweep the whole place without ever moving the plug! the little things.. ahh..these past 10 years have been good to us.
